The ongoing feud between former P-Square members, Paul and Peter Okoye, has escalated following the arrest of their elder brother, Jude Okoye. Paul has now pointed fingers at his twin brother, blaming him for Jude’s legal troubles.
Speaking to the press after Jude’s bail hearing, Paul insisted that his brother was being unfairly portrayed as a fraud.
“The truth is, the reports are making it seem like Jude is a fraud, but let’s be honest—Peter is the one responsible for this. He is the reason Jude is in this mess, and I’m here to get him out. Peter is my brother, but that doesn’t change the fact that if Jude is guilty of these crimes, then Peter and I are just as guilty,” Paul stated.
Jude Okoye, the former manager of P-Square, was recently arraigned on seven counts of money laundering involving ₦1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59. He has pleaded not guilty.
During Friday’s bail hearing, the prosecution opposed his release, citing a flight risk. However, his lawyer, Effiong, argued that Jude had fully cooperated with authorities, assuring the court that Paul ‘Rudeboy’ Okoye would act as a surety. Justice Owoeye directed Paul to submit his documents and scheduled the bail ruling for March 3, with the trial set to begin on April 14.
For now, Jude remains in police custody as he awaits his trial.
